How We Choose Small Group Leaders

The harvest is plenteous, but leaders are few (Luke 10:2).
Time is of the essence right now because these groups are dividing quickly.
Leaders like you are needed.

Below are the steps you can take to be equipped and prepared to lead a small group effectively.

STEP 1:
Recognize God's Calling
First we must recognize that Christ taught our true purpose in life is ministry. We were redeemed for service. There are only a few basic lies Satan commonly suggests to God's children that hinder them from being equipped and sent out to share with others what God has shared with them.

The first step to 'Our Simple Model of Discipling' is to address these popular myths regarding God's calling on your life to evangelism. Jesus said in John 8:32 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

STEP 1:

Exemplify the 7 Behaviors of a Corporal

1. Interacting and contributing during the meeting by sharing testimonies, prayer requests, asking inquiring/engaging questions.
2. Inviting others to attend.
3. Studying the Small Group Squad Vision, Weekly Mission, Squad Leader Bootcamp, Vision Book, and the Devotional Document.
4. Communicating with their little flock during the week by connecting, sending audio prayers, taking prayer requests, sharing devotional nuggets, etc.
5. Showing up consistently to the Evangelism Training on Thursdays @9AM PST, the Leadership Table on Tuesdays @9AM PST, or watching the replays on YouTube.
6. Attending regularly to the small group squad meetings.
7. Posting invitations on their social media, such as stories, newsfeeds, and walls.

STEP 2:

Create Your 'Who Do You Know?' List

Don't know who to invite to your Squad?

Each Squad is succeeding only as it's growing and dividing into more Squads, giving others opportunities to grow and develop as leaders. Inviting people to your small group is a key part of leading.

STEP 3:

Make Your Invitations

Inviting others to the Squads is one of the foundational skills necessary to grow a small group.

When you commit to the journey of mastering the skill of inviting, you'll see a dramatic difference in the impact you make on the lives of others!

This video is packed with some of the key concepts to effectively inviting others. Watch it again and again.

STEP 4:

Devotional Document on Small Groups

This study goes through what God's Word says about evangelism in small groups, and will inspire you beyond where you are now.
You'll understand the New Testament model for evangelism.

It's vital to understand what God's Word says on the subject, so we can know that what we are doing is exactly what God has instructed us to do.

STEP 5:

Understand the Vision

Those who read this resource will take priority when it comes to who we decide will be the next leaders, because they understand the vision more than anyone else.

This Small Group Leadership book by the pastor of the world's largest congregation casts the vision for the small groups better and faster than we ever could.

By reading it, you'll understand why we're doing what we're doing, and how to do it properly. You'll be prepared to face the challenges that may come your way as a small group leader.

STEP 6:

Attend Weekly Evangelism Training

We believe evangelism skills are more caught rather than taught.

Therefore we recognized that in order to create an organization that develops people who develop others, we needed to provide an opportunity for others to be around leaders who are actively solving real problems, overcoming evangelism obstacles, and engaged daily in developing other leaders.

This is a valuable part of every Squad leader's training. We get to see what's really working and work together to share solutions to the problems we're specifically facing in the Squads.
We're offering you an open invitation to come every Thursday at 9 AM PST on our Discord server to sit down and discuss with other leaders on subjects that will help you develop your leadership ability regardless of what organization you're leading.

This weekly Evangelism Training is where Squad transformation takes place.

Only come if you want to cultivate your evangelism ability by surrounding yourself with accomplished leaders who are passionate about helping you successfully experience your infinite potential in Christ Jesus.
