Main Idea: Often times we might believe that what we have now isn’t enough to serve the Lord. We might think we don’t have enough training, resources, or education in order to achieve our goals. But in reality, this is only a mindset that we can be freed from if we use one of the great faculties of our mind, given to us by God. The faculty of Imagination. In today’s study, we will learn how we can be an example of what is possible.
1 What does the Lord call the youth to be? 1 Timothy 4:12
2 Is this possible with Christ? Ephesians 3:20
Note: Christ is able to help you become an example of what’s possible through Him and even more than what we think we can possibly imagine. A lot of limitations we see are not in lack of resources, but lack of resourcefulness.
3 Why does the Lord want the youth to show themselves to be an example of what’s possible through Christ? Titus 2:6-8 (opens in new tab due to long verse)
Note: We are called to be an example of what’s possible. When people come in contact with you, they see Christ in you, the hope of glory. They see you and their imagination and belief is expanded.
4 Where is a great place to find examples of what is possible to expand your imagination? Romans 10:17
Note: Consistent daily devotions is an incredible gift to help us understand how to use our imagination to the glory of God. By constantly beholding God’s word, you can become a vessel by which the Lord works to show to others that there is hope for them to grow in the Lord by the expansion of their imagination of what’s possible in Christ.
5 To what extent should this word dwell in us? Colossians 3:16
Note: If we are to develop our imagination, the word of God needs to dwell in us richly. Richly is defined as: “Plenteously; abundantly; amply”. If we were to have God’s word abundantly dwell in us, imagine how much that can bless those who look at this example!
6 Is an impossibility an opinion or a fact? Proverbs 23:7
Note: Something we must learn is that “Impossibility” is a mindset. By looking at certain tasks, goals, dreams, etc, as impossibilities; know that you will have a very hard time reaching those desired results or end up not achieving them at all. Learn to change this mindset by constantly affirming Christ’s identity in you.
7 Was Jesus an example of what’s possible? 1 Peter 2:21
8 How did Christ become an example of what’s possible for us? 1 Timothy 3:16
Note: By coming in the flesh Jesus became an example of what’s possible, If we allow ourselves to cooperate with the Lord, we will begin to realize how much the Lord can do through you towards not just yourself, but others by His grace.
9 Do we need to become perfect in a certain area of life in order to be an example? 2 Corinthians 8:12
Note: All God asks is for your willingness. If we are willing to saturate our minds in His word and be used as examples to show the world what is possible through Christ Jesus, we gain a huge blessing in becoming the people Christ wants us to be and living a most fulfilled life.
10 What does the Lord promise in regards to this? Philippians 4:19
In Light of God’s Word…
Is it your desire to strengthen and expand your imagination to see what is possible through Christ by consistently beholding the Lord in His word?
