Main Idea: How often do many of us wonder why we get certain results in our life? Have you ever wondered if there might be a science to all the results that happen in our lives? God has not only given us the specific law of cause and effect, but shows us certain laws in His word that govern these results in our life. In today’s lesson, we will be learning how to become a practical scientist.
1 How does the Lord describe those of this world in regards to knowledge? Luke 16:8
Note: When the children of this world study, they put their focus on the subject without preconceived ideas, notions, and opinions. They’re trying to understand how things work. That’s science. Science is defined as “The study of any subject or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of general laws.” Scientists study the reason why results happen and what are the steps to get them consistently. When we study secular science and compare it with scripture, rejecting the things that don’t harmonize with the Word of God, then we can accelerate our path to learning.
2 Is all science trustworthy and true? 1 Timothy 6:20
3 Who is the author of all true science? Psalm 111:2
4 Who taught Daniel all his knowledge and skill in the sciences? Daniel 1:17
Note: God taught Daniel the knowledge of the science; the sciences of practical things. He was a politician; the third ruler in the kingdom in secular governments, but he had the word of God as his foundation to filter all the secular science through.
5 What are we to do with all the things we learn from science? 1 Thessalonians 5:21
Note: To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (Isaiah 8:20) You don’t have to focus on the things that are not in harmony with scripture. You just focus on filtering through the scriptures and what God says is true. The word of God teaches us how to become practical scientists.
6 What is the foundation of all our results in life? Galatians 6:7
Note: Here the law of Sowing and reaping is revealed. This is the foundation from which all our results come from.
7 What’s the universal law to growing in any skill or area of life? Hebrews 5:14
8 How do we receive more of anything? Luke 6:38
Note: This Law of Imparting is a law that governs the results of all that is given to us. For example, normally when we give kindness to others, we receive kindness back. (Matthew 7:12)
9 By what way are we able to receive faith? 2 Corinthians 4:13
Note: This is the Law of Expression. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. If God had not expressed His love, through His word, we would all be lost. Impression that does not lead to expression, causes depression.
10 What fixed law, that by so following, will always bring growth the more we do it? Matthew 7:7
Note: This is the Law of Focus. What you focus on grows and what you look for, you will undoubtedly find.
