Main Idea: Sometimes it can be quite a mystery to us as to why we don’t see transformation in our lives even when we spend long periods of time reading God’s word. Mainly, there are 3 simple things we can do to practically be transformed by the word of God. Today we will be learning how we can have daily transformation by God’s word and grace.

1 How much does the word of God counsel us on? 2 Peter 1:3
Note: The word of God doesn’t just give counsel on doctrinal, theoretical sermonized things. We need to train our minds in faith that God’s word applies to ALL THINGS pertaining to life and Godliness. We need a practical faith in God’s Word that all means all. “There is no position in life, no phase of human experience, for which the teaching of the Bible is not an essential preparation.”

2 How much does godliness profit us? 1 Timothy 4:8

3 Why were the Scriptures written? Romans 15:4
Note: Do you believe that the promises and counsels in the Word of God are for your specific experiences in life? The Bible was written for us. If we’re going to take anything personally, it should be the Word of God. It’s not just a bunch of stories. It applies to us personally and practically today. The first step to practically applying the Bible to our lives is to make it personal.

4 How do the promises of God additionally help us? 2 Peter 1:4
Note: Contained in God’s word are precious promises that give us the strength to maintain that hope that comes from the scriptures; and by this, we are able to partake in the divine nature

5 Where does faith come from? Romans 10:17

6 Why don’t we see changes in our life even if we’re reading the Bible? James 1:22
Note: The reason why many don’t see a transformation in their lives is because they are constantly only studying information. Information is a very vital step in the process of transformation, but it isn’t the end. We can study information all we want, but if we don’t set out to apply that information to your life, you will not see a transformation. information paired with application creates transformation which gives us the opportunity for the publication of our experience.

7 Do we have to wait to see the fulfillment of God’s promises before we believe them? Romans 4:17
Note: We can have a firm assurance when reading the word of God when we affirm the scriptures in the present tense. As we read in Romans 15, the Bible applies to us personally.

8 What affirmation does the Lord give us in regards to His promises? 2 Corinthians 1:20
Note: This scripture presents to us that in each promise in the Bible, lies an established promise. “For all the promises of God in him are yea”. We have the assurance that every promise we read in the word of God is trustworthy and sure. Instead of focusing on where we don’t want to go and what we don’t want, we can focus on where we do want to go, and what God is doing for us. We can positively apply the Word of God to our experience.

9 What is the ONE THING that we are unable to conquer through Christ? Romans 8:37
Note: There is not ONE THING we cannot overcome or gain victory over through Christ. How does this verse apply to your experience personally, presently, and positively?

10 By practicing these steps in our lives, what can we be confident in that the Lord will do? Philippians 1:6
