1 Does God require us to take the time so we can analyze our past? Ecclesiastes 3:15
Note: Why does God require us to analyze our past? Because we have nothing to fear for the future except we forget the way the Lord lead us in the past.

2 Should we have a systematic and regular time for analyzing our lives? Ecclesiastes 3:1
Note: There is a time to work and there’s a time to reflect and review our lives. How many seasons are in 1 year? 4. A season is for how long? About 3 months, or 90 Days, which is a quarter of a year. It is a good idea to have a set time at the end of the day, week, month, quarter, and year to self examine. There are some plants that can ONLY grow in specific seasons. What season of life are you in?

3 Does God have a systematic and regular time for the examination of His people? Leviticus 16:29-30
Note: God required them to examine themselves every year. They were to be cut off if they neglected this examination. It was a regular annual examination. Day of atonement – at one ment with God – Agreement

4 When we take the time to analyze our past, what will this save us from? 1 Corinthians 11:31-32
Note: God is showing us that if we judge (examine) ourselves, we don’t have to be condemned.

5 How do we obtain a personal experience in knowing the will of God in our lives? Psalm 46:10

6 What has God given us as a template to examine ourselves from? James 1:23-25
Note: God has given His perfect law in which we can look at as a mirror to reflect on. And by continually beholding we will become changed.

7 What was the secret of Daniel’s Success? Daniel 2:26-28
Note: So what Daniel said is that none of the wise men can do this supernatural thing the king was requesting. But there’s a God in heaven. He gave glory to God for the victories in his life. Refusing to steal any ray of glory that rightfully belonged to the Lord. When we reflect on the victories… it’s not us. It’s God’s might, glory, wisdom. Bringing these victories to pass. When we exceed these goals… it’s not pushing God out. It’s bringing God in and giving Him the glory. Recognizing His working. If we do this in the little things, we’ll do it with greater things too. He will trust us with more.

8 What should our attitude be toward self examination? Psalm 139:23-24
Note: When we begin examining ourselves there should be an attitude of submission to God as David had. Many times we don’t see a change in our lives because we don’t really sit down and let the Lord convict us of the things that we really need and want to change. Everything we want is just outside of our comfort zones.

9 What has Jesus said He will do if we fail to remember and learn from our past? Revelation 2:5
Note: A Candlestick is used to produce light. What is light a symbol of in the Bible? God’s word. If we don’t take the time to study through God’s word our failures and trials to learn from them, we will rob ourselves of many a victory over future trials and the light that we would have gained from the searching of God’s word.

10 Once we have reviewed our past and have learned from it, should we continue to dwell in the past? Isaiah 43:18-19
Note: Trials if received as educators will produce joy. When you look at any pain in your life, reflect on that. Ask, How can I avoid that in the future? What can I learn from this? Or What can I be grateful for about this?
